The revised film “State Of Art Examination Of Survivor Of Sexual Assault &Rape “provides a step by step detail on how a woman survivor/victim of sexual violence should be examined and evidence collected .It is to be used together with the MOHFW Guidelines and Protocols for medico- legal care for survivors/victims of sexual violence, 2014.We are sure this film will work as step by step guide to provide comprehensive care to survivor of sexual assault in an informed manner.

Through this Film  We would like to avail the opportunity of appealing to every private/govt. hospital in the country to give care to sexual violence survivors as a part of their corporate social responsibility and dedicated rape crisis centres.

Survivors of sexual assault and rape require sensitive and supportive care during examinations. This article explores the importance of providing compassionate care to survivors and how healthcare professionals can make a difference.

Sexual violence results in several physical and psychological consequences that warrant immediate medical examination and treatment. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. in 2014 issued "GUIDELINES &PROTOCOLS, Medico-legal care for survivors/victims of Sexual Violence " for health workers with an aim to highlight the medical and forensic responsibilities of health professionals. Hon'ble supreme court in a landmark judgement on 31.10.2022 directed the Union Government and State Governments to: a) ensure that the above guidelines are circulated to all government and private hospitals, b) health providers are communicated the appropriate procedure to be adopted while examining survivors of sexual assault and rape and c) “two-finger test” or per vaginum examination is not prescribed as one of the procedures to b. I.M.A, N.I.G.F & D.G.F took the initiative and revised the Film "examination of sexually assaulted victim" made in 2006 by Women wing of IMA , in 2023, based on MOHFW Guidelines and Protocols, 2014. We hope that the updated film 'State Of Art Examination of Survivor of Sexual Assault and Rape" will work as step by step guide in providing comprehensive care to survivor of sexual assault in an informed manner. The film has to be seen in reference to MOHFW Guidelines , 2014.
